President visits press

Gutenberg Press expansion works are expected to be finalised within the next few months.

President Guido de Marco yesterday paid a visit to the printing press in Tarxien, where he was welcomed by Frank Spiteri, managing director, together with members of the management and staff.

The President toured the building housing the printing press, and also visited the new extension under construction.

Gutenberg Press was set up 20 years ago as a small factory, and has since grown and expanded from the local into the export market.

At the end of his visit the President presented a memento to Mr Spiteri together with a copy of his latest publication "Momentum" of excerpts and speeches delivered by him during the first three years of his presidency.

The book, together with another of Prof. De Marco's publications, "Presidency with a Purpose", was published by the Gutenberg Press.

The President received a donation in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund, made by the company directors and staff.
