What is the Euro Observatory doing when receiving price increase complaints?

The Euro Observatory first calls or visits the outlet where the alleged increase has taken place, asking for clarifications. In cases where such abuse is confirmed, the Euro Observatory requests the outlet to revert the price back to its original value. If this recommendation is not followed, the Observatory escalates the procedure to a warning procedure which includes a first and second warning in writing. If this is not succesful, then a fine of €1747.03 (Lm750) is imposed. This has been the case of two businesses during last year.
