Frank Pace, 25, the prison inmate from Senglea who escaped from police custody on Sunday, is still on the run.

A search was launched immediately after the prisoner evaded a policeman who was guarding him at St Luke's Hospital where he was undergoing medical treatment.

So far the search has proved futile and will resume today, the police said.

Mr Pace was in prison serving time in connection with several cases of theft.

The police are calling on anyone who might have information on the whereabouts of the escapee to pass the information on to the police in confidence on 2122 1111.
