Prize Day at Hookham Frère Primary School, Pieta, was marked by a performance of The Nutcracker. Year 5 student, Jessica Borg, nine, tells the story.
My teacher Mr Mizzi, together with Miss Marthese and Miss Vanessa, organised a play. This was held on prize day and concert day. The name of the play was The Nutcracker.
My part was that of old Clara, as I tell my grandchild what really happened to The Nutcracker. I enjoyed taking part in the play because this helps me a lot not to be shy on stage and to continue practising my English. All my friends were great too and we had beautiful costumes.
I would like to thank my teacher and all those who helped me to give this great performance.

The Nutcracker
Giuliana Magro Conti, nine, writes about her school concert
I go to Hookham Frère Primary School, Pieta. My teacher is Mr Mizzi. I am in Year 5A. For our concert we performed The Nutcracker.
I was young Clara and Jessica Borg, one of my friends, was old Clara. Old Clara has a granddaughter called Christa. In the play there were children dancing waltzes and polkas from my CD, which was with my children's book of The Nutcracker, which my father had bought me. There were good soldiers, of the Nutcracker Prince and bad soldiers of the Mouse King and there was Drosselmeir, who gave Clara the wooden nutcracker.
Everyone liked the play and I hope that next year we do a nice play too.
