A 24-year-old man was yesterday put on probation for three years and fined Lm50 after he admitted to stealing four wheels and a gear lever knob when he was already on probation.

Gary Wingfield, of St Paul's Bay, admitted to stealing the wheels and the knob from Joachim Martin's Austin Mini and breaching a probation order on February 28, 2002.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera presided over the case.

Police Inspector Joseph Mercieca prosecuted.
