On December 4 we commented on the Sunday Mass census. We expressed disappointment that the figure of the total number of people who had gone to Mass that weekend had not been published. We augured that the preliminary figure be published as soon as possible and that this publication would eventually be followed by a full and detailed result.

Two and half months have passed since then. No preliminary results have been forthcoming. No indication has been given on when we are to expect any partial or final results. Through the grapevine one hears that only the data from a small percentage of parishes have been analysed. If the same kind of progress will continue to be registered, it means that we are months away from the publication of the final results.

Can anyone enlighten us?
