Qormi local council and Kadenzi, the society for Maltese folk singers and folk musicians, have signed an agreement providing folk singers premises for a club in order to cultivate a wider appreciation of Maltese folk singing.

The agreement was signed by mayor Roderick Galdes and executive secretary John Farrugia, and members of Kadenzi's committee, Gorg Mifsud-Chircop, president, Cikku Degiorgio, Tal-Fjuri, secretary, and Jason Seguna, treasurer.

The club is situated in the Greek Theatre complex near St Sebastian Church at Qormi.

This is the first club for folk singers and musicians in Malta.
