MUSIQUE is the name of a new organisation set up by Michelle Cachia Castelletti to promote local musical talent. Unfortunately, many good musicians are "overlooked" by the relevant authorities. Musique's goal is to provide a platform for such talent.
Ms Cachia Castelletti believes in helping and encouraging each artist by giving them the possibility to express themselves in front of an audience.
The first of this series of concerts is a piano recital by Maureen Galea, a brilliant pianist, reading for her Ph.D. in Performance at the University of Surrey, England, after having obtained a BA (Hons) in Music at the University of Malta, an M.Mus. with Distinction (Surrey) and completed the Diploma in Piano at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatorio of Florence.
This concert will be held at St James Cavalier on Wednesday, October 27, at 8 p.m. The programme will include works by Beethoven, Schumann, Grieg and Ades (b. 1971). Tickets can be bought from St James Cavalier at Lm5 (students, elderly Lm3.50).
