Malta Enterprise took part in a seminar in Ancona, Italy, promoting investment and trade opportunities in Malta.
The seminar was well attended, with the participation of an array of industries ranging from mechanical engineering and marine firms to the food and furniture sectors. A number of law firms and other service industry operators were also present.
The seminar, organised by Confindustria Marche and Assindustria Pesaro Urbino in collaboration with the Maltese embassy in Italy, was chaired by Carlo Lucarelli, president of Confindustria.
Speakers included Fabrizio Costa, director of regional economic development for Marche, and Malta's ambassador to Italy, Edward Melillo, who in his opening address gave a brief outline of socio-economic developments that have come about through Malta's accession to the European Union.
Malta Enterprise representatives delivered a presentation highlighting the industrial and commercial opportunities available in Malta for entrepreneurs coming from the Marche region.
Bank of Valletta addressed Malta's role in the internationalisation of SMEs with the bank's representative giving a detailed account of the financial products offered by the bank.
