Property prices increased by 5.7% in a year
Residential Property Price Index continues to climb
Property prices had risen 5.7% in the three months leading up to the end of September compared to the same period the preceding year, according to National Statistics Office (NSO) figures released Friday.
By the end of the third quarter of last year, the Residential Property Price Index (RPPI) - which measures change in the average property price – had reached 174.63, an increase of 5.7% compared to the 165.26 index result seen in the same period in 2024.
Apartments continued to see their value increase more than maisonettes, while the combined RPPI for both types of properties came in at 172.45 – a result bumped up by a further two points with the inclusion of houses.
With the RPPI measured against 2015 prices, the recent results point to a staggering increase in property prices over the last decade; September’s result shows property prices have risen by three-quarters in 10 years.
The NSO noted that the RPPI measured a quarterly increase of 1.6 per cent.
