The Atlam Sub-Aqua Club is organising a dive for charity on Sunday in an attempt to raise funds for Dar Nazareth in Zejtun.

Maurizio Micallef, the club's secretary, said this was the fifth consecutive year that Atlam was organising this charitable event and the second year they were raising funds for Dar Nazareth, a home for persons with a disability.

Last year the club raised Lm500 and Mr Micallef said they were hoping to triple this amount with Sunday's dive.

The dive will take place at Qawra Point, near Ta' Fra Ben, between 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. The public will be asked to make a donation of Lm3 to dive.

"We will be providing the equipment, helpers and instructors to ensure we give them a chance of exploring the underwater world, while helping those in need," he said.

Doctors will also be in attendance to carry out the necessary medical checks before certifying participants fit to dive.

A number of MPs have also committed themselves to take a dive for charity.

Those who wish to book are encouraged to call Mr Micallef on 9947 4918.
