Fr Joseph Alappattukunnel, a priest working in the diocese of Kanjisappally, Kerala, South India, is in Malta to promote a scheme through which one can help needy families in his diocese by donating 33 cents daily.

In his appeal Fr Alappattukunnel said several families were being supported by the scheme "Save a Family".

He is in Malta to find families who are willing to be partners in the scheme.

"By contributing Lm10 every month, poor family members can meet the costs for their food and their bare necessities," he said.

A photograph and an accompanying letter will be sent to the benefactor on applying to join the scheme.

Fr Alappattukunnel will be willing to give more details about the scheme to anyone who is interested. He may be contacted on 2146 2432 or 2146 8231.
