British world marathon record holder Paula Radcliffe is set to run a 1,500m at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, on Saturday.
The race will be in conjunction with a visit to sponsor Nike's headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.
Radcliffe said: "It would be over 1,500m and just seven weeks after the London Marathon. I'm anticipating there may be a good few cobwebs.
"That said, it's a long time since I've raced a good 1,500 metres and it would be great fun."
Among the rivals she is expected to face is Tatyana Tomashova of Russia, Olympic silver medallist in Athens behind Briton Kelly Holmes in a time of 3:58.12. Radcliffe has a lifetime best of 4:05.37 at the distance.
