A classy performance from Emil Raducu helped ZC Excess to end their commitments in the UEFA Futsal Cup on a positive note when they held group winners FS Ilves, of Finland, to a thrilling 5-5 draw at the Cottonera Sports Complex yesterday.
The Romanian player, who joined the Malta champions this summer, showed his prowess in front of goal when he netted four goals to help his team come back from 3-1 down to earn a point. The other goal for ZC Excess was scored by Clint Cope.
For FS Ilves, the point earned against ZC Excess sealed their place in the next round of the competiton after finishing on top of the standings with seven points, one point ahead of BGA Futsal, of Denmark, who yesterday clinched their second win after edging Tirana 5-4.
ZC Excess finished third in the group with four points while Albania’s Tirana finished bottom in the group with no points.
Final standings: FS Ilves 7; BGA Futsal 6; ZC Excess 4; Tirana 0.
