The Ramblers Association is holding its annual general meeting at Din l-Art Helwa's premises, 133, Melita Street, Valletta, on Saturday at 10 a.m., when details of its present and future projects will be discussed. All members and those interested in the preservation, conservation and protection of our countryside are invited to attend.

The association recently published its programme of walks for January-May. Such walks will be restricted to a small group of participants when there is a risk to natural habitat. They will be repeated as required.

The next walk, a scenic and historical one, is being held on Wednesday, covering Gomerinu and Qallelija. It is an easy walk over country lanes and paths. Participants meet near the Domus Romana in Rabat at 9.30 a.m. The walk should last about three and a half hours.

Other walks are planned for the Siggiewi area (February 18), Kalkara (February 19) and Gozo weekend (February 23-25). A group of Scottish ramblers will be in Malta between March 15 and 29, and should be joining RAM walks being held that fortnight.

For more information contact the president, Lino Bugeja (2163-3126, 9942-4030) or the secretary, Alex Vella (2131-3926; 9949-7080).
