Real Madrid midfielder Santiago Solari is poised to sign a three-year deal with Inter, Spanish sports daily newspaper Marca said yesterday.
The versatile Argentine, who agreed a new four-year contract with Real in January, will move for a nominal fee as a clause in his contract allowed him freedom to leave if he did not complete a set number of games with Real, Marca said.
Solari only made 11 league starts for the capital club last season spending most of his time on the substitutes' bench.
Agreement between the clubs is said to have already been reached and the player is now expected to sign a contract in the next two days.
Inter have long been admirers of Solari and tried to include the player as part of the deal that took striker Ronaldo to Real in 2002.
Press reports are also linking Real's Argentine central defender Walter Samuel with a loan move to Inter.
