Mister Fish Club recently organised its first competition by night, held at the Portomaso Marina, St Julian`s. The event attracted great interest. In fact, all 35 berths were booked and there was also a waiting list in case of some late absentees.

The competition, the second at Portomaso for the club, got underway at 6 p.m. Fish was caught at regular intervals and it turned out to be quite a remarkable fishing spree for all competitors. By midnight, 36kgs of fish was caught.

First place went to Keith Ellul who had a remarkable catch of 6.84kgs. This is a record for all competitions ever organised by the club. Second place went to Darren Camilleri while Johnnie Cutajar had to settle for third. The trophy for the biggest single catch was claimed by Ellul - 620grs.

Trophies and vouchers were presented by David Azzopardi, Marina Manager at Portomaso. Mister Fish Club are planning to hold another competition at Portomaso later on this year.
