Stade Francais will set a crowd record for a French championship match outside finals in any sport when they face European champions Stade Toulousain at a packed Stade de France on October 15.

"We have sold the 79,500 tickets which means that the game will be played to a packed Stade de France," the Paris club announced yesterday.

"To play at the Stade de France was a challenge and a gamble nearly impossible to win but we did it."

"The two Stades", as the French media have nicknamed the Paris and the Toulouse clubs, have won 10 of the last 12 French championship titles between them.
