The Red Arrows have experienced technical difficulties on their way to Malta and had to divert to a military base in Sardinia.
The team's engineers are doing their best to have the aircraft serviceable again but it is not yet known if they will be able to perform during the Malta International Airshow this weekend.
The public will still be able to see the Spitfire, RAF Typhoons and Tornados, a NATO AWACS and many other aircraft, including a Libyan Air Force Chinook helicopter, marking the first-ever airshow participation by Free Libya in any airshow worldwide.
Other aircraft include a Hercules from Qatar, expected to arrive later tonight.
The static display starts at 10am and the flying display at 1.30pm with the arrival of an Air Malta Airbus A320. The show ends with the Spitfire at around 4.30pm.
