Reductions in government bureaucracy are having a tangible effect on people’s lives, Parliamentary Secretary for Planning Deborah Schembri said today.

Addressing a press conference, Dr Schembri said 500 services could now be accessed more easily by the public.

These services were available both online and through mobile apps, Dr Schembri said.

She said that many businesses had in the past decided not to set up shop in Malta due to government bureaucracy.

Principal Permanent Secretary Mario Cutajar said the government had managed to implement 500 measures of simplification in the last three years.

Simplification Commissioner Anthony Agius Decelis said people would now know how long it would take them to receive the requested service from the government.
