These European elections results are certainly a disappointment to us all. I personally have worked hard with many a candidate who asked me for help in my areas of competence. I held house parties, gatherings, two large scale gatherings in Sliema, other functions organised with local council candidates, house visits with candidates and even a walkabout in Sliema.

All MEP candidates thanked me for this, and I do acknowledge their thanks, and opened my door to them. I do share the disappointment overall. I say this lest no empty vessel comes up with a fantasy theory that can only contradict the above, proven with names and all.

Another MEP candidate called me up so many times to meet but we failed to hold a meeting. Another came across via messages from good friends.

It was yet another great experience, each with his own system of work and campaign, and I fitted in each way of doing things.

Although the timing of these elections was somewhat uncomfortable for our PN candidates, the party held on to its 40 per cent mark.

A big thanks goes to all candidates. I enjoyed working with them all.
