Horst Heese's selection for the UEFA Regions Cup tournament in Holland made up for their two earlier upsets in Holland last weekend with a comprehensive 4-0 win over a Northern Ireland XI who finished last in the group. The hosts made it to the next round of the competition for amateur sides after beating Portugal 2-1 in the decisive match on Saturday. In previous matches, Malta lost to Holland 2-1 and Portugal 3-0.
