I refer to recent letters and to the letter by Charles Attard of Swieqi (September 8) regarding the renaming of a street in Marsa.

I do not agree that streets should never be renamed but one has to be cautious and it should not be overdone. In the case of the Marsa street name, the worst thing was not the renaming of part of Marsa Cross Road but that this part lies in the middle of the street.

The notice in the Government Gazette (November 14, 2000) states that the part of Triq is-Salib tal-Marsa between Balbi and December 13 Road is renamed Triq Patri Felicjan Bilocca.

Therefore we now have Triq is-Salib tal-Marsa from the Blata-l-Bajda flyover to December 13 Road (corner with Moll tal-Hatab) and again from the Marsa parish church to the trade school (corner with Triq tat-Tromba).

My suggestion is that the part of this street between Blata-l-Bajda flyover and Middleman Street should be incorporated with Triq Dicembru 13 or, alternatively, Triq Patri Bilocca will start from Blata-l-Bajda.
