Renault Group reports strong global growth in H1 2025

Brand continues to accelerate electrification strategy and product expansion

Renault Group has announced its preliminary results for the first half of 2025, showing solid growth in a complex and evolving market. The group reported a +2.5% increase in revenue to €27.6 billion, with an operating margin of 6.0%, and a total of 1,169,773 vehicles sold globally, up by +1.3% versus H1 2024.

Despite increased pressure in the European retail market and temporary slowdowns in commercial vehicle sales, Renault continues to perform above market trends, particularly in the passenger car segment and electrified mobility.

Strong performance in Europe and beyond

The Renault brand registered 808,413 global vehicle sales (+2.7%), driven by strong international momentum (+16.3%) and continued gains in Europe (+8.4%) despite a slightly declining market.

Clio remains the bestselling vehicle across all channels in Europe, while electrified sales reached a new high − with 59% of all Renault vehicles sold now featuring electrified powertrains.

The Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, launched earlier this year, is now the bestselling B-segment EV in Europe, contributing to a +57% rise in EV sales for the brand.

Renault also recorded a +36% increase in hybrid sales, further solidifying its position as the number two hybrid brand in Europe.

Dacia and Alpine: sustained growth and EV expansion

Dacia sold 356,084 vehicles in H1 2025, maintaining strong retail leadership in Europe. The Sandero remains the top-selling car to retail customers, while the new Duster Hybrid continues to gain traction. The Dacia Spring, Europe’s most accessible EV, saw sales rise by 62.5%.

Alpine continued its transformation with 5,015 vehicles sold (+85%), led by the award-winning A290 electric city car, and maintains leadership in Europe’s two-seater sports coupé segment.

Renault Group’s electric future

Renault Group’s electrified vehicle mix rose to 44% of total sales, with 12.3% fully electric. In 2025 alone, the group will launch seven new models, including the Renault 4 E-Tech Electric, Dacia Bigster, and Alpine A390, along with two major facelifts.

The group remains committed to its long-term electrification strategy, balancing innovation with affordability. This is reflected in models such as the upcoming €25,000 Renault 5 E-Tech, which will be instrumental in making electric mobility more accessible across Europe, including Malta.

“As I step into the role of CEO, I am convinced that Renault Group has all the fundamentals to succeed: committed teams, a robust product plan, and a clear brand strategy.

While our first-half results didn’t fully align with our initial ambitions, we’ve already launched the right countermeasures,” CEO François Provost said in a statement.

“We remain a benchmark in profitability and are determined to continue delivering value while accelerating our transformation. The roadmap is clear − and so is our ambition.”
