The government has split Identity Malta, the Malta Residence & Visa Agency (MRVA), and the Individual Investor Programme (IIP) into three different agencies.

The legal notices covering their operations have been amended, the goverment said, stating the way in which their operations would be reformed.

Dogged by controversy and allegations of abuse, each of the entities will now have its own chairman and board of five directors and will be run by a chief executive.

To ensure coordination in policy-setting, some of the directors will be common to all three agencies.
