Residential property sales rise by 6.1% in February

The highest numbers of final deeds of sale were recorded in St Paul's Bay

Final deeds of sale of residential property last month amounted to 1,095, an increase of 6.1 per cent when compared to those registered in February 2025, the NSO said. The value of the deeds totalled €352.8 million, an increase of 16.8 per cent compared to the corresponding value recorded in February 2025.

Final deeds of sale by locality

The highest numbers of final deeds of sale were recorded in St Paul's Bay (94), Birkirkara (56) and Mosta (53).  

The highest number of final deeds was for apartments (457) and garages (250) at 38.7 per cent and 21.2 per cent, respectively.

Promise of sale agreements

In February, 1,328 promise of sale agreements for residential property were registered, an increase of 6.2 per cent over the same period in 2025, the NSO said. Their value totalled €458.8 million, an increase of 10.9 per cent when compared to February 2025. Individual potential buyers (households) accounted for 1,211 (or 91.2 per cent) of these agreements, while the rest mainly involved companies.

The highest numbers of promise of sale agreements were recorded in St Paul's Bay (105), Birkirkara (84) and Marsascala (53).
