Keith Youngs (Broth Without Turtledoves, October 20) must realise that all through my correspondence I have consistently defended law-abiding hunters. In fact I also mentioned that surveillance is welcomed by them.
He concludes that hunting "ceased to be a tradition years ago when the era of the true double-barrelled hunters died out". His is a baseless conclusion. My husband and many other hunters I know still go hunting using their double-barrelled shotguns. This is a fact.
My arguments have all along been in favour of the law-abiding hunter - anything beyond that is superfluous.
