Hilltop Gardens Retirement Village, a project of the AX Holdings Group, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat in Naxxar today.

The €43 million complex offers a choice of independent living arrangements including 133 luxury apartments and penthouses, spread over a 17,000sqm, all surrounded with extensive views, and landscaped areas.

AX chairman Anglu Xuereb explained how Hilltop Gardens is a new concept for Malta.

"This is not what we are used to as an 'Old Peoples’ Home' but a small retirement village where people can enjoy their retirement," he said.

Jacqueline Camilleri, CEO, said The Hilltop was built not only with luxury in mind but also with flexibility and choice.  

Facilities include a wellness spa, a fitness centre, library, chapel, a lounge bar and restaurant, billiard room, a crafts centre, darts room, multipurpose hall including an indoor heated pool, a large outdoor swimming pool with Jacuzzi and relaxation area, children’s indoor and outdoor play areas, a convenience store a hairdressing salon, Bocci Pitch, Garden Allotment areas, and an underground car park with 150 spaces.
