A third weekly flight to Malta will be added to Egypt Air's itinerary as traffic between the two countries increased dramatically over the past months.

The Maltese Embassy in Cairo said the number of visas issued last year increased by 236 per cent over 2008. Ambassador Giovanni Miceli attributed this to the good political relations between the two countries, dating back to the mid-1960s. Nowadays, he added, a variety of Maltese products could be found in leading supermarkets in Egypt.
