After reading a letter about the manslaughter case involving a 17-year-old driver, I felt compelled to write and should have done so much earlier. The legal system in this country is disgraceful. What message has this case conveyed to those we encounter on the roads each day and who put our lives at risk? "Kill whoever you like, don't worry all you'll get is a fine".

How can we ever wish to improve standards when these people know there is no come-back? It appears the authority places more importance on parking fines than on dangerous drivers.
