Fernando Alonso was so furious following his fourth place in qualifying on Saturday that he kicked in a door at the McLaren motorhome and damaged the visor on his helmet, according to Spanish media reports.
The team had to call in a carpenter to repair the damage, and Alonso used a different helmet on Sunday, when he finished the race in second place.
The Spanish media has been speculating about tyre pressures and temperatures which were different to Alonso team-mate Hamilton, who won pole position. Team boss Ron Dennis has insisted that driver treatment remains equal.
