Roadblock nets 31 staying in Malta illegally, two driving without licence

45 vehicles were stopped in Burmarrad Road

Thirty-one persons were arrested at a police roadblock on Monday after they were found to be staying in Malta illegally.

The police said they mounted a routine roadblock in Burmarrad Road, St Paul's Bay, and stopped 45 vehicles.

31 people were held for staying in Malta illegally and two motorists were found driving without a licence.

Another six motorists were fined for various irregularities.

The police were accompanied by officials from Transport Malta, the Detention Service, Identità and JobsPlus.
