Roma have signed DR Congo striker Shabani Nonda from Monaco, the Serie A club announced.
The 28-year-old, who arrived on a free transfer having reached the end of his contract with the Ligue 1 team, signed a three-year deal worth 1.8 million euros ($2.2 million) a season, Roma said on their website.
"I'm delighted to be at Roma. It's a great team, with players of international calibre," Nonda was quoted as saying in La Gazzetta dello Sport yesterday.
"It is a dream of mine, for example, to play alongside (Roma captain Francesco) Totti," said Nonda, who helped Monaco reach the Champions League final last year.
Nonda is the third player to arrive at Roma since the start of the month, following former Bayern Munich defender Samuel Kuffour and ex-Siena midfielder Rodrigo Taddei.
The trio will be expected to help re-launch the team's ambitions.
The 2001 Italian champions endured a difficult 2004-05 season. They made an early exit in the Champions League and then flirted with the danger of relegation before finishing ninth in Serie A on 45 points, 41 behind winners Juventus.
