Three Romanians this morning admitted in court to having forced their way into a restaurant and trying to seal from its cash register.

The men, a waiter, a labourer and a construction worker aged between 19 and 23, were accused of trying to rob the Paranga Restaurant in St Julians. They were given a conditional discharge for two years.

Earlier, Abuagla Kh Alwahishi, 30 of Tripoli was remanded in custody today after being arraigned in court and accused of trying to import 3kg of heroin to Malta. The drug was allegedly found in his luggage at the airport.
