An exhibition by Russian artists Valery Blokhin and Larissa Blokhina and Maltese artist Raymond Pitré is being held at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Merchants Street, Valletta up to March 18 during normal office hours.
Mr Blokhin, born in Novorossysk in 1964, developed as an artist in "the romantic dialogue with the history of world art". His work reflects his profound penetration into the cultural and spiritual experience of artists of all times.
Born in Korenovsk in 1960, Ms Blokhina continuously interprets human reflection of the world, ably using intricate cultural symbolism.
Established in the field of portraiture with his portraits of prime ministers, presidents and other prominent people, Mr Pitré, born in 1940, is at his most poetic when giving free rein to his imagination.
The idea behind the grouping of a Maltese with two Russian artists was found to be fruitful due to the contacts and cross fertilisation that ensued from these encounters, the Russian centre said.
