The GO Cares employee fund has made a donation to the Daughters of the Sacred Heart to support their missions in India, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and the Philippines. The funds were raised by employees through a staff bake sale.

GO’s HR operations senior manager Josephine Grima, who presented the funds to Sr Prassede Farrugia, said: “Every year, our employees organise fundraising initiatives and events to help those in need, both in Malta and abroad. The Daughters of the Sacred Heart, founded in Malta in 1903 by Teresa Nuzzo, do a fantastic job in providing education and support to hundreds of children in Malta and by working in other communities that have very limited resources. Education is close to our hearts and the key to our future, so I would like to thank all staff members for supporting this activity.”

The fund is an initiative through which the company’s employees voluntarily donate a small contribution from their salary on a monthly basis. Employees are able to support various worthy causes by organising activities during the year and making use of donations made through this fund.
