THE Gaulitanus Choir celebrated its 15th anniversary with a concert Sacred in Opera at St Peter and St Paul basilica, Nadur, yesterday week.

The appreciative audience, including Minister Giovanna Debono, were treated to excerpts from various operas. Mro Colin Attard conducted works by Rossini, Verdi, Massenet, Puccini and Mascagni.

Stephen Attard accompanied the choir for soprano Rita Dimech's rendition of operatic arias and young violinist Jean Noel Attard interpreted operatic intermezzi. The event was repeated at St Paul's Anglican Cathedral, Valletta, on Monday (see also page 38).

The Gaulitanus Choir's engagements in the next three months include performances in both Gozo and Malta. Sacred in Opera was a magnificent springboard for these future events and offered a mouth-watering feast of memorable music.

Sacred in Opera has been recorded under studio conditions and is now available at Lm5 each. To order a copy e-mail colinatt@maltanet.net or phone 2156-0200 or 9925-8592
