Safe abortions?

The Weekender of September 4 carried an article on the subject "Unsafe abortions 'kill thousands'". The report stated that "nearly 70,000 women, almost half of them in Asia, die from unsafe abortions each year".

Dr John C. Willke, a pro-life activist who (together with his wife Barbara) has been working on the subject for several decades, explains in his book "Why can't we love them both?" how statistics of illegal abortions are used by abortionists as arguments in favour of legalising abortion.

For us who are convinced that a foetus is a human being from the first moment of conception there can be no talk of "safe" abortion. If 70,000 women died, as referred to above, at least 70,000 unborn children died with them, to which one must add the aborted children whose mothers did not die.

It is a cruel world which denies to innocent, unborn children that which it grants (and rightly so) to convicted murderers.
