St Andrew’s midfielder Kemar David Reid is the BOV Player of the Month for January 2018.

The 24 year old midfielder from Jamaica has established himself as an asset in St Andrew’s bid to keep their spot in the BOV Premier League.

Trailing Ħamrun by the odd goal just before the hour, Kemar pulled of a series of dizzying feints to throw the Hamrun defenders of balance and then unleashed a low shot that hit the back of the net despite Hamrun goalkeeper Galea’s desperate dive.

His performance during this match earned him the BOV Player of the Match slot and the all-important point for St Andrew’s.

The following week, Reid took charge of a penalty awarded against Floriana at the half hour after Marcelina brought down Miranda Gomez inside the  area and did not disappoint.

Four minutes later he almost scored his second, with his curling low shot missing the target by inches, with another shot forcing a save by Akpan on the 70th minute.

Norman Bonello, Manager of Bank of Valletta’s branch in Ta’ L-Ibrag presented the BOV Player of the Month trophy for January 2018 to Reid who chose ALS Malta Foundation to benefit from the donation related to this award.
