The Christmas market at San Anton School is currently in full swing and proving to be a festive fun day out with a difference.
Hundreds of visitors are visiting the various stalls where one can find everything for a perfect Christmas, from traditional decorations, gift-wrapping, home accessories. giftware, jewellery, wooden toys, Christmas plants, artisan chocolates, children`s gifts, toys, gourmet foods, spices, festive treats, home-made jams, chutneys and other original gifts and stocking fillers to impress friends and family.
Children are meeting Santa Claus in his Grotto but the main attraction is a live crib complete with a wooden stable that has been purposely built at the school’s picnic area under a large carob tree.
With the support of local farmers, this stable also is housing live animals to transform the area into a typical nativity scene.
Children visiting the Christmas Market may dress up in nativity costumes and participate in the event.
They can listen to stories, write their letter to Santa, and participate in Christmas art and craft and baking workshops.
Author Noel Tanti will be reading excerpts from his newly published book and Bricks 4 Kidz will be holding a Lego Christmas Workshop.
The cast of Cinderella – traditional Christmas panto by MADC will visit the market at 3pm. The market is open until 5pm.
