I was the first to criticise the bad state of the San Gwann cart ruts recently and the only one to raise my voice in The Times.

And now I want to be the first - and, hopefully, not the only one - to praise San Gwann council and the beach cleaning section in the ministry of tourism for a very good job well done. Actually, I have never seen these prehistoric remains so thoroughly cleaned as this time.

It is my sincere desire that this cleaning is done on a regular basis so as to make them more attractive to locals and tourists.

Furthermore, if the surrounding chicken wire were to be replaced by something more suitable and in keeping with the importance of this site the whole place would look tidier and more pleasing.

I encourage the local council to seek the help of the EU in conjunction with the Monreale council who were more than willing to back us up in rehabilitating the whole place. A project brief is already in hand at San Gwann council.
