Labour leader Alfred Sant described as "shameful" the Nationalist Party's court action designed to deprive citizens over 80 of their right to vote on the basis that they have "mental problems".

Dr Sant, who was speaking to supporters at a social activity in Mellieha, assured the senior citizens that the MLP would defend their right to vote.
