Labour leader Alfred Sant met the council of the Malta Football Association this morning and promised that a Labour govenrment would promote sports and reduce tax on sports-related activities.

He said a Labour government would waive VAT or reduce tax on capital projects by sports associations and reduce tax on tickets for sports events.

It would also place a stronger emphasis on sports at school so that students had at least five hours of physical activity per week. It would also encourage schools and sports organisations to introduce new sports disciplines in Malta.
