Labour leader Alfred Sant said today that Labour will kick start the Gozitan economy after the general elections.
Commenting after a tour of several localities, Dr Sant said Gozo had stagnated under the Nationalists and its resources and attractions were not well used.
Dr Sant spoke on Labour's regional plan for Gozo, which includes a subsidised helicopter service, fiscal incentives for SMEs, farmers and fishermen and tourism operators.
Dr Sant went on a walkabout in Victoria and also visited cultural associations.
Later in the day Dr Sant also visited Buskett, where he said the government had not sufficiently protected this woodland and had not recognised its importance for the environment and for the people's recreation.
