Sarah Bajada says son kept away from campaign to 'enjoy being a child'
Bajada and PN leader Alex Borg believe mass meetings and political activities are not the right environment for Sam
Sarah Bajada, the partner of PN leader Alex Borg, has said the couple chose to keep her young son away from political events during the recent electoral campaign.
In a Facebook post, Bajada said the past two weeks have been filled with events, meetings and interviews, yet the couple made sure the campaign did not take time away from her son, Sam.
"Through it all, nothing ever took time away from our little monkey," she wrote, sharing a photo of Borg and Sam.
Bajada said she and Borg did not believe mass meetings and political activities were the right environment for him at his age.
"So we both made the decision to keep him away from that side of things and simply let him enjoy being a child.
She added that they wanted him to spend quality time with them “how he knows best”.
Children are often seen at political rallies and mass meetings in Malta, particularly during election campaigns.
The issue was recently raised by Times of Malta opinionist Anna Marie Galea, who questioned why politicians were still "parading their children" in 2026 to present themselves as "wholesome, family-oriented people."
