A four-star spa resort on a Mediterranean island has topped a list of the most expensive hotels in Europe.
Basing the positions on the hotels’ average overnight rates for a standard double room between July 1 and August 31, 2015, Le Dune in Sardinia had the highest prices by far.
Summer travellers staying at the resort in Santa Margherita di Pula on the southwestern coast can anticipate a nightly cost of €2,400 for the least expensive double room.
