Mrieħel school marathon festival
A marathon 42-hour non-stop series of activities entitled 'Ġestfest', is being held at St Theresa College's Girls' Junior Lyceum, Mrieħel, between Friday at 7.30 p.m. and next Sunday at 1 p.m., partly in aid of the Community Chest Fund.
It includes a five-a-side football, basketball, table-tennis tournaments, tennis lessons, a match between a team of MPs and a college team, abseiling, pony rides, entertainment by local singers and bands, BMX and pet shows, police displays, and barbecues. Visitors may win prizes.

Ħal Ħrafa village set up
For two days last month hundreds of students from Maria Regina College's nine schools visited a village called Ħal Ħrafa set up at the Girls' Seconday school in Mosta by students from the college.
The village featured three puppet shows, three audio-visual presentations, two plays with dance and song, an apothecary that offered stories as remedies, an original board game and an exhibition.
The idea was for the children to practise creativity and teamwork in a fun atmosphere, to write stories, and produce props and costumes using recycled material.
College talent show
St Augustine College, Pietà, organised a talent show on May 15 at St Agatha auditorium, Rabat, featuring two productions - a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet by Form 1 students, directed by Miriam Grima, and a musical production of Carlo Collodi's Pinocchio, by Form 2 and 3 students, directed by Lawrence Spiteri and Yvette Buhagiar.
Żejtun primary's 100th anniversary
Over 50 ex-staff members of St Thomas More College's Żejtun primary schools A and B attended a ceremony on May 12 to mark the schools' centenary, held in conjunction with the local council.
It included an exhibition of photos highlighting the schools' history and a presentation by Year 5 children of The Jungle Book based on a script by Trevor Zahra.
Treat for students
Choir and drama students at St Benedict College's Girls' Secondary, Tarxien, were last month treated to an education outing to St Agatha's Tower, Mellieħa, where they enjoyed the magnificent views from the tower's roof, to Noah's Ark Sanctuary, where they learnt of the sufferings and rescue of dogs, and to Għadira Bay, where they were able to relax by the sea.
