The Malta Drag Racing Association (MDRA) will hold its second event of the year this weekend.

Most of the cars that have been undergoing engine and body modifications are ready for action, raising hopes of an exciting racing weekend with plenty of spectacular runs. The main classes, featuring cars like Sierra V8 (Alan Camilleri), the Sunbeam Lotus (Edmond Azzopardi, Smart Butcher), Cortina Cosworth (Emanuel Muscat), Escort V8 (Victor Felice, Express Trailers) and the V8 Hillman Imp (Michael Caruana, Maxims), are expected to steal the limelight at the newly-refurbished Hal-Far raceway.

Two popular top cars that are always engaged in intense competition are the Modified Escort Cosworths of Emanuel Mangion (Dilja, Zoqdi Racing) and that of Carmel Polidano (Kalanc, Manty Racing).

Newcomer Jason Camilleri will take part with a new experimental car - an RS Turbo powered Escort MK1.

The classification runs start at 1 p.m. tomorrow and at 10 a.m. the following day. More information on www.maltadragracing.com.
