Ghaxaq are still in search of their first win of the season after their derby with Zejtun ended 1-1.

It was Ghaxaq who moved in front just before half-time through Kevin Gambin, but soon after the restart the Corinthians made it 1-1 with a Marco Gerada goal.

Ghaxaq's Bjorn Dalli had a shot well saved by keeper Fardell. Late in the match, Zejtun created two clear opportunities through Gerada and Glen Azzopardi Busuttil but the stalemate prevailed.

Attard further underlined their promotion credentials with their third victory from four matches.

Yet, Attard suffered an early shock as Siggiewi seized the lead after just six minutes through Jonathan Debono.

But Attard hit back strongly even though they had to wait until the 37th minute to level matters through Fabian Cutajar.

Three minutes into the second half, Yan Grech put Attard in the driving season and on 59 minutes, Firas Aboulezz all but sealed the points for his team with an excellent free-kick.

Two minutes from time substitute Mark Saliba scored Attard's fourth goal.

A last-gasp goal by captain Gordon Mallia earned Rangers three useful points which sent them top of the standings alongside joint-leaders Attard on ten points.

Xghajra started strongly, going ahead in the 10th minute through Jesmond Azzopardi following a pass by the active Lizio Grech.

Zebbug made a strong reaction but Mallia hit the post and Ryan Attard and Errol Cachia could not find a way through.

Rangers made it 1-1 on the stroke of half-time when George Saliba scored from close range.

Zebbug stormed forward during the second period but the best scoring opportunity fell to Xghajra when a Grech shot hit the bar. Then, Mallia struck Rangers' winner from a quickly-taken free-kick.

Luqa St Andrews 1

Pembroke suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Luqa.

Pembroke had a Jeffrey Fenech free-kick coming off the woodwork and then Steve Micallef was denied by Luqa keeper John Agius.

Alessandro Pirrone was also stopped by the woodwork but he was luckier two minutes from half-time when he fired home after receiving from Jason Cutajar.

The second period was rather quiet. Steve Micallef, Luke Desira and Simon Buhagiar tried their luck for Pembroke but Luqa held tight for their first victory of the season.
