The Malta Tourism Authority will be holding a seminar, entitled "Managing the MICE (meetings and incentive and conference and events) Business Successfully" on November 6-7 at Razzett l-Antik, Qormi.

The seminar is aimed at enabling personnel from destination management companies and other key people to adopt an appropriate customer care strategy in order to maintain and develop existing clients. Participants will also be trained in developing more effective professional communication and problem-solving strategies.

The keynote speaker will be Paul Hunter, partner and associate of Direction Plus in Switzerland. He has had vast experience in cross cultural training and has conducted various management training sessions in Europe and Latin America.

Anne Wallin Rodven, vice-president of the European Federation of Conference Towns (EFCT), who is on the board of directors of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), will also be addressing the seminar.

The importance of professional training within this sector was highlighted following a survey and report on the conference and incentive travel market in Malta carried out by the MTA's research and strategic planning division in collaboration with the CIT Division.
